Fire curtains

We just completed the installation of three FC2 E240 W90 curtains at a residence in Pembridge Villas, London. This is one of the curtains seen here. In sum, each of the curtains placed provides 240 minutes of fire resistance, which is in accordance with the overall fire safety policy of the structure.

In order to eliminate the possibility of anyone becoming trapped behind a fire curtain, a Multi-Function Group Control Panel with two stage descent was installed. This panel has a programmable timer delay that deploys the curtain in two stages, allowing for egress before the curtain is fully deployed.

Emergency retract switches were also put on each side of the curtain, in addition to the two-stage fall system. This ensures that in the uncommon event that someone becomes trapped behind a curtain, a button may be pressed to retract the curtain.

The National House Building Council (NHBC) on-site signed off and authorized the set of curtains once they were fitted and commissioned.
